There's a front-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive option, with the former claiming to go up to 252 miles on a single charge. A front-wheel-drive, single-motor system comes standard with 201 horsepower. Two motors are used in the all-wheel-drive variant, although the output is only marginally increased to 215 horsepower. This is much less than the all-wheel-drive ID.4 (295 horsepower) and the all-wheel-drive Hyundai Ioniq 5. (320 hp).
Battery Life & Charging
Hyundai Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 has a range of 220 miles on the SE Standard Range. It is upgraded to 303 miles on every other trim above this. When hooked into a DC fast charger, the bigger battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes or added 68 miles in about five minutes. Every model has Ultra-fast charging capabilities.
Toyota bZ4X
The batteries in the two bZ4X powertrains are essentially identical: the single-motor version has a 63.4-kWh battery pack, while the dual-motor variant has a 65.5-kWh battery pack. The FWD, single-motor model's EPA range estimations are 242/252 miles (Limited/XLE), while the all-wheel-drive variant is 222/228 miles. The 6.6-kW onboard charger can recharge the battery in 9 hours with a Level 2 supply. Toyota says that adding an 80 percent charge at a DC fast charger takes just under an hour, with peak charging speeds of 150 kW for front-drive vehicles and 100 kW for all-wheel-drive versions.
